How can I make a payment on my account?

There are several different ways to make a payment on your account:

  • Prairie Trails Disposal Ltd. is pleased to announce we now accept payment by VISA or MasterCard Credit or Debit card for waste collection and disposal services.

    • Through OptionPay, our third-party payment processor, for a nominal processing fee you can make card payment through our website using the pay now link or via phone to our accounting office @ 780-806-6995.

    • All processing fees are charged by OptionPay and are not received by Prairie Trails Disposal Ltd.

    • Utilizing OptionPay enables our company to keep our overall payment acceptance processing costs down yet provide for individual residents to utilize their credit/debit card for payment of waste collection services.

    • All payments will be received by the company within 48 business hours, so please be sure to allow for this processing time when making your payment. Also ensure to know your daily and/or transaction processing limit when making credit card payments. Credit card Rewards are earned on entire purchase, including fees.

    • For optimal performance please use Google Chrome or Firefox web browser when accessing OptionPay.

 

  • Mail a cheque made out to Prairie Trails Disposal Ltd. to Box 69 Metiskow, AB T0B 3A0.

 

  • Drop off cash or a cheque made out to Prairie Trails Disposal Ltd. at the Provost Landfill. Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

 

  • Direct Deposit. Please contact Kaylee for direct deposit information.

 

  • Interac e-Transfer using the following information:

    • Name: Prairie Trails Disposal Ltd.

    • Notification: pratradis@gmail.com

    • Security Question: What do we collect

    • Security Answer: Garbage

    • Comment: Invoice number

 

  • Online Banking at the following Institutions: ATB Financial and all Credit Unions

    • When paying with online banking please ensure the following:

      • When selecting the payee please ensure to select Prairie Trails Disposal Ltd.

      • Your customer account number will be your customer name as it appears on your statement and invoices with the exception of special characters, spaces and a maximum of 20 characters.

What are your payment terms?

Our payment terms are net 30 with 3% interest charged on all accounts past 60 days due. For your convenience we offer Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually and Annually billing periods as well as the option to have your invoice emailed to you.

What happens to my account when it's past due?

If you have not made a payment in over 6 months your pick up service will be suspended until a payment has been made on your account.

Can I change my scheduled pick up service?

Yes, if you find you are having more or less garbage or recycling we can switch your scheduled pick up service to better accommodate your waste collection needs.

Can I get extra picks on my dumpster?

Yes, you can get extra picks on your dumpster at any time but there will be an additional charge on your monthly bill. Please contact us for more information on how much an extra pick will cost.

What can I put in my dumpster?

We kindly ask that you only put bagged household garbage in your dumpster. The following items are not accepted in dumpsters:

  • Wood

  • Car Batteries

  • Ash

  • Metal

  • Iron

  • Shingles

Can I move my dumpster?

We kindly ask that you do not move your dumpster down any roads as it could be a liability issue for us. If you need your dumpster moved just give us a call. We will gladly move your dumpster free of charge.

How soon do I have to call to have my dumpster emptied?

How soon your dumpster get’s empty depends on where our truck is. Sometimes we can empty your dumpster that same day, other times it may be a few days. Either way we always make sure to get your dumpster emptied as soon as possible.

Do I have to be on site when they deliver the dumpster?

No, you do not need to be on-site when we deliver a dumpster. If you give us the location of where you would like your dumpster we can deliver it anytime.

How much can I throw in the dumpster?

You can fill your dumpster as full as you can get it as long as the garbage is not falling out. We just kindly ask that you do not pack the garbage down as it can be difficult to empty when its packed tightly.

Who do I contact to schedule a pickup?

Why do I not have to sign a contract like other waste collection companies?

We don’t believe in making our customers commit to contracts. We have an open door policy and want the best for our customers.

What if I no longer need my dumpster?

We are always sad to see customers go but are very understanding and want what’s best for you. If you decide that you no longer require your dumpster please give Brandon or Kaylee a call. Please note if you have been renting your dumpster for less than a year we do charge a delivery and removal fee. If you have rented your dumpster for more than a year that fee is waived.

What is a Roll-Off Container?

A roll-off container is a heavy-duty trash container used for big cleanup projects. This large, sturdy trash container is rectangular in shape and made of welded steel with an open top for easy, on-location loading of junk, trash and debris. Its large capacity makes it ideal for a cleanup, remodel, renovation or demolition.

What items can NOT go into a Roll-Off Container?

  • Any materials that are classified as hazardous such as:

    • Corrosive – damages surfaces, skin and other human tissues (rust removers, alkaline cleaning fluids and old batteries).

    • Flammable – products and fumes that burn easily (painting wastes, degreasers, and other solvents).

    • Reactive/Explosive – reacts violently when mixed with other chemicals, or when placed under pressure or heat (aerosols).

    • Toxic/Poison – coming into contact with, inhaling or ingesting these materials can cause serious health issues (materials containing heavy metals like mercury, lead or cadmium).

    • Medical waste or animal carcasses of any kind.

    • Any material not listed above however considered unsuitable for containment e.g. malodorous waste: asbestos, gas/diesel, fluorescent tubes, etc.

  • Extremely heavy material such as rock, dirt or concrete.

 

Please note that the customer is fully responsible for the contents of the dumpster and is the rightful owner of the contents until the contents are accepted (without protest) by the respective disposal facility. In the event that contents, which are not allowed, are disposed of in the rented container, customer will be liable for all costs, fines, penalties and/or any other action taken for disposal. Costs may include but not limited to cleanup, monitoring, testing, legal fees, penalties, and/or any additional charges arising from depositing unauthorized contents into the dumpster.

How full can I fill the Roll-Off Container?

All refuse shall remain within the confines of the dumpster and shall not exceed the top or sides.

What happens if I damage a Roll-Off Container?

If any damages occur to the roll-off bin while on site the, customer shall be liable for any loss or damage to rented roll-off bin in excess of reasonable wear and tear.

Access and Ground Conditions

The Customer will be responsible for the provision of free and suitable access to and from the delivery site (including the removal and reinstatement of local obstructions).


Customer warrants and represents that any location provided by Customer for the dumpster is sufficient to bear the weight and size of the dumpster and any vehicle required to transport the dumpster. Prairie Trails Disposal Ltd. shall not be responsible for any damage to pavement or any other road surface material, lawns, fences, shrubbery, septic system, private well, or any other form of property damage.


Should the container cause damage to ground surface during loading or unloading Prairie Trails Disposal Ltd. is only responsible if this is due to our negligence. We have specifically identified that the heavy container may cause damage and that the placement of these heavy containers is important to  prevent damage.
